Michel Bizot metro station
Michel Bizot is a metro station on line 8 of the Paris metro, located in the 12th arrondissement.
Located below the Daumesnil Avenue, north of the intersection with the Général Michel Bizot Avenue, it owes its name to the latter. This avenue pays tribute to General Michel Bizot (1795-1855).
Michel Brice Bizot, was born on October 3, 1795 in Bitche . As an engineer officer, he took part in the defense of Metz (1814) and Besançon (1815). In 1823 he also took part in the Spanish campaign. He commanded the Polytechnic School (1852-1855) and was put at the head of the engineering troops during the Crimean expedition. He was killed on April 15, 1855 during the Siege of Sebastopol.
He was appointed Knight of the Legion of Honor on September 16, 1823, Officer of the Legion of Honor on August 17, 1841 and Commander of the Legion of Honor on January 14, 1855.
The station has four accesses, all on Daumesnil Avenue and one of them is reserved for the exit.
